I’m a third-generation descendant of a daring escape from the Soviet Union to northern China in 1918 — think Cold War drama, but with more walking. This led to a childhood zig-zagging from Taiwan to Thailand to Hong Kong to Mumbai, like a real-life game of "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?"

Eventually, my passion for filmmaking and storytelling led me to building and running creative teams in LA and NY, cutting my teeth at MTV, NBCUniversal, and The Atlantic. My uncommon backstory has given me a keen sort of spidey sense – the ability to spot signals where others see noise.

Along the way, I participated in rally racing across Morocco (because cars like sand, right?), scripted Bollywood hits (spoiler: everyone dances), and documented Danny Way as he jumped the Great Wall of China on a skateboard.

My wife and two kids remain unimpressed.
